Edgy Bowls

Here they are, the first ones of what I hope will be a series of simple bowls with a very active rim.
\

They are a pleasure to make, a challenge to glaze (I am still exploring the best combinations) and I think are handsome for displaying or for holding fruit or pinecones, or chips or salad - anything  your average bowl might hold.

Different from your average bowl is their organic edge which gives them a meditative quality. You can ponder them. The bowls looks different from every angle.

The undulations remind me of landscapes with hills or mountains - I was contemplating giving them names of U.S. states, Wyoming, Missouri, etc. when the edge matches the topography of the state.

This last one is a graphite gray outside. Generally I like the outside textured and darker than the inside and none of it too glossy.

This is a medium sized bowl in green.

The bowls all are made on the same hump mold so they nest very nicely together. I wonder how tall I can make the stack. More are on the way.
